Before dying of cancer, a young mother prepares a series of birthday presents for her newborn daughter, one for each year until she turns 18. Years later, the teenage daughter, struggling with the absence of the mother she never knew, discovers the gifts. Each present reveals a piece of her mother's love and life lessons.
