A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)
Feeling disillusioned by the commercialism he sees around him during the Christmas season, Charlie Brown becomes depressed. In an attempt to find meaning, he takes on the role of director for the school Christmas play. His efforts are met with mockery, especially when he chooses a small, pathetic-looking real tree for the production instead of a shiny artificial one. He struggles to understand what the true spirit of Christmas really is.
