Autumn Sonata (1978)
A renowned concert pianist visits her estranged daughter after many years apart. The long-awaited reunion quickly becomes a painful and intimate confrontation. Over a long night, the daughter expresses a lifetime of repressed resentments and sorrow, accusing her mother of emotional neglect. The mother is forced to listen to the consequences of her artistic ambitions and absentee parenting, leading to a raw examination of their relationship.
