Better Off Dead... (1985)
A high school student is plunged into deep depression after his girlfriend dumps him for the captain of the ski team. He sees no reason to live and comically fails at numerous suicide attempts. He is distracted by his quirky neighbors and a sweet French exchange student, all while preparing for a downhill ski race against his rival in an attempt to win back his lost love and his self-respect.
