Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014)
A former celebrity, famous for portraying an iconic superhero, struggles to mount a Broadway play in a bid to be taken seriously as an artist. As he deals with a troubled cast, personal relationships, and his own insecurities, he is haunted by the critical voice of his superhero persona, which mocks his ambitions. The production's previews edge toward opening night, and the pressure threatens to unravel his sanity and the play itself.
