Brazil (1985)
A low-level bureaucrat in a retro-futuristic, dystopian society dreams of a life where he can escape his monotonous existence and rescue a beautiful woman from his dreams. His life is upended when a simple administrative error causes an innocent man to be arrested and killed, and he becomes obsessed with making it right. He finds himself falling in love with a woman who seems to be the literal woman of his dreams, all while being hunted by the very totalitarian system he works for.
