Cabaret (1972)
In the declining years of the Weimar Republic, a American cabaret singer performs at a decadent nightclub in Berlin. She becomes romantically involved with a charming English academic and befriends a wealthy German playboy, all while the ominous rise of the Nazi Party casts an increasingly dark shadow over their lives of pleasure and political apathy. The glamorous and seedy world of the Kit Kat Club provides a stark contrast to the gathering storm outside.
