Chicken with Plums (2011)
In 1950s Tehran, a renowned violinist, Nasser-Ali Khan, has his beloved instrument broken. He deems it irreplaceable and, in his despair, decides that life without the ability to make beautiful music is not worth living. He takes to his bed, determined to die. As he awaits death, the film unfolds the story of his life through a series of flashbacks, revealing his lost love, his arranged marriage, and the deep regrets that have led him to this final, sorrowful decision.
