Cold Mountain (2003)
A wounded Confederate soldier deserts the army and begins a perilous journey on foot back to his home in the remote mountains of North Carolina and to the woman he loves. Meanwhile, the woman he left behind must transform from a gentlewoman into a rugged survivor, protecting her home from the ravages of war and a cruel home guard in his absence.
