Departures (2008)
A cellist loses his job when his orchestra is disbanded. He and his wife move back to his hometown, where he answers a classified ad he believes is for a travel agency. He discovers the job is actually for a "nokanshi"—a traditional Japanese ritual mortician who prepares bodies for burial. Initially repulsed, he comes to master the art and finds a deep respect for life, death, and the families he serves.
