A cynical London-based music manager is sent on a team-building trip to a coastal fishing village in Cornwall. There, he stumbles upon a group of retired fishermen who sing traditional sea shanties at the local pub. He initially dismisses them as a novelty but, after a bet with his colleagues, rashly promises to get them a record deal. As he spends more time in the village, he is charmed by the community and the authentic music, finding himself genuinely wanting to help the fishermen achieve success, which challenges his big-city values.
