Free State of Jones (2016)
A disillusioned Confederate army deserter returns to Mississippi and leads a rebellion of fellow farmers and escaped slaves against the Confederacy. They establish a free state in the swamps, based on equality. The film follows their struggle during the war and the Reconstruction era that followed.
