Fried Green Tomatoes (1991)
A timid housewife, feeling middle-aged and invisible, befriends an elderly woman in a nursing home. The old woman tells her the story of two fearless women who ran a cafe in their small Alabama town in the 1920s, and their deep friendship that helped them overcome abuse, prejudice, and even a murder mystery. The tale inspires the listener to change her own life.
