Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story (2009)
A young boy from a struggling single-parent home in Detroit faces poverty and low expectations. With the encouragement of his mother, he overcomes a violent temper and poor grades to excel academically. His journey leads him to become a pioneering neurosurgeon, facing and overcoming racial and professional prejudices to eventually lead a groundbreaking surgical procedure to separate conjoined twins.
