Holes (2003)
A teenager is falsely accused of theft and sent to a juvenile detention camp in a dry Texas lake bed. The punishment for each boy is to dig one deep hole in the desert every day. The warden claims it is to build character, but the boys soon realize she is searching for something buried beneath the dried-up lake, connected to a centuries-old curse.
