In the Heat of the Night (1967)
A black police detective from Philadelphia becomes embroiled in a murder investigation while passing through a racially hostile Mississippi town. The local police chief reluctantly accepts his help due to his expertise. The detective must work to solve the case while navigating the deep-seated prejudice and violence of the community, putting his own life at risk.
