Innocent Voices (2004)
During the civil war in El Salvador, an eleven-year-old boy lives in a small village caught between the army and guerrilla fighters. The military regularly conscripts boys at the age of twelve, making his childhood a desperate countdown. He strives to live a normal life, experiencing first love and protecting his family, while the conflict relentlessly encroaches upon his innocence. The story is a poignant look at the human cost of war through the eyes of a child.
