Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion (1970)
A powerful Roman police captain kills his mistress and then deliberately leaves a trail of evidence that points directly to himself. He does this to prove that his privileged status makes him immune to the law. He watches, fascinated, as his subordinates ignore the obvious clues, creating a biting satire on corruption and authority.
