Jean de Florette (1986)
A city man inherits a farm in rural Provence and moves his family there with dreams of a new life growing carnations. Two neighboring farmers, desperate to acquire his land for its hidden spring, secretly block the water source. They watch and wait as the man's efforts fail and his family suffers through a drought, all while pretending to offer their help.
