Joe Versus the Volcano (1990)
A man diagnosed with a "brain cloud" and given only months to live accepts a bizarre offer from a wealthy industrialist: live like a king for a time, then sacrifice himself by jumping into a volcano on a remote island to appease the natives. He embarks on a journey of self-discovery, finding love and a new will to live along the way.
