L'Avventura (1960)
During a boating trip to a volcanic island, a woman mysteriously vanishes. Her lover and her best friend, who is also the missing woman's best friend, begin a search for her across Italy. During their quest, the two become emotionally and physically involved, their guilt and anxiety growing as the mystery of the disappearance remains unsolved.
