Eight coal miners and their supervisor are trapped two miles underground after a methane explosion causes a catastrophic collapse. With limited oxygen and the constant threat of further collapses, they must navigate the pitch-black and crumbling tunnels to find a way out. The veteran crew leader must guide his men, each grappling with fear and desperation, through the treacherous mine. They face impossible choices and dwindling hope as they struggle to survive against the clock, highlighting the daily dangers faced by those who work deep beneath the earth.
