Network (1976)
The longtime news anchor for a failing television network is fired due to low ratings. On his final broadcast, he has an on-air mental breakdown and announces he will kill himself on live television. Instead of being scandalized, the network's executives seize on his explosive rants and newfound popularity, cynically exploiting his madness for ratings, turning the news into a sensationalized circus.
