Out of the Past (1947)
A former private investigator, now running a gas station in a small town, is found by his violent past. His old boss, a ruthless gangster, drags him back into a web of betrayal and murder concerning a missing woman and a large sum of money. He is forced to confront the femme fatale he once loved and the double-cross that originally caused him to flee, sealing his tragic fate.
