Wendy, a young autistic woman with a passion for "Star Trek," has written a detailed screenplay for a writing competition. Feeling stifled in her group home, she runs away on a journey from Oakland to Hollywood to personally deliver her script to the Paramount Pictures studio before the deadline. Her trip across California is filled with challenges that test her resourcefulness and independence, as her caretaker and sister try to find her.
