Ran (1985)
An elderly warlord decides to abdicate and divide his kingdom among his three sons. His decision, based on their flattery rather than merit, plunges the kingdom into a chaotic power struggle. The betrayed father is cast out and driven mad as his sons turn on each other in a brutal civil war, destroying everything he built.
