Rashomon (1950)
In ancient Japan, a brutal crime occurs: a samurai is found dead in a forest. The incident is recounted from the conflicting perspectives of a bandit, the samurai's wife, a woodcutter, and even the deceased himself through a medium. Each testimony presents a radically different version of events, challenging the very nature of truth and revealing how self-interest shapes memory and reality.
