Restrepo (2010)
This documentary is a year-in-the-life account of a U.S. Army platoon deployed in the Korengal Valley of Afghanistan, one of the most dangerous postings in the war. The film follows the soldiers as they build a remote outpost, named "Restrepo" after a fallen comrade, and engage in daily firefights with Taliban insurgents. It is a raw, visceral look at the experiences of modern soldiers, capturing the boredom, fear, camaraderie, and trauma of life on the front lines.
