Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954)
In the 1850s Oregon wilderness, the eldest of seven backwoods brothers goes to town to get a wife. He successfully courts a strong-willed woman who returns to his farm. Shocked by his six uncouth brothers, she decides to civilize them. Inspired by the Roman story of the Sabine Women, the brothers later kidnap six women from town to be their brides, causing an uproar.
