Seven Samurai (1954)
A poor village under attack by bandits hires seven masterless samurai (ronin) to protect them. The samurai, who work for nothing but food, teach the villagers to defend themselves and prepare the town for the coming assault. The film details the formation of this uneasy alliance and the epic battle that follows.
