Shahid (2012)
Based on the true story of Shahid Azmi, a man who rises from a troubled youth—during which he is wrongly imprisoned—to become one of India's most promising human rights lawyers. He dedicates his life to defending those accused of terrorism, often taking on cases that others refuse. His work brings him into direct conflict with powerful political and legal forces, putting his own life in grave danger. The film is a powerful account of his journey from victim of injustice to a champion for the unjustly accused.
