Silence (2016)
In the 17th century, two Portuguese Jesuit priests travel to Japan to locate their missing mentor and to minister to the persecuted Christian community there. They face the brutal and systematic suppression of their faith by the Japanese authorities, who force converts to renounce their beliefs under torture. Their mission becomes a severe test of faith, sacrifice, and personal conviction.
