Synecdoche, New York (2008)
A struggling theater director receives a prestigious grant and decides to create a monumental piece of art. He builds a life-size replica of New York City inside a warehouse and populates it with actors. The project becomes his life's work, blurring the lines between reality and the play as he directs his own existence and the lives of those around him.
