The Big Lebowski (1998)
A laid-back, unemployed Los Angeles sloth known as "The Dude" is mistaken for a millionaire with the same name. Thugs break into his home and steal his rug, setting off a chain of events that pulls him into a convoluted plot involving a kidnapped wife, a group of nihilists, a volatile bowler, and a missing million dollars. He just wants compensation for his ruined rug, but finds himself acting as the middleman in a situation far beyond his control.
