A Pakistani comedian in Chicago begins a relationship with a graduate student. Their cultural differences create a barrier, and they break up. Soon after, she contracts a mysterious illness and is placed in a medically induced coma. He stays at the hospital with her parents, navigating the complexities of family, culture, and his own feelings for her while she is unconscious. The Lion King 1½ The story of The Lion King is retold from the perspective of Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog. It details their lives before they met Simba, showing how they became outcasts from their own communities and found each other. Their journey leads them to the jungle where they adopt their "Hakuna Matata" philosophy, and eventually cross paths with the young lion prince.
