The Bookshop (2017)
In 1959 England, a widower, Florence Green, decides to open a bookshop in a conservative coastal town, despite having no experience. Her venture is opposed by the town's wealthy and influential matriarch, Violet Gamart, who wants the property for an arts center. Florence finds an ally in a reclusive local book lover, but the struggle to keep her shop open becomes a battle against the town's entrenched social hierarchy and resistance to change.
