The English Teacher (2013)
A high school English teacher, whose life is defined by literature and routine, encounters a former star pupil who has returned home after failing to make it as a playwright in New York. She decides to revive his spirits and their small town's cultural life by producing his unpublished, mature play at the school. This decision immediately creates friction with the conservative school administration and the playwright's skeptical father. She must navigate the complexities of artistic integrity, small-town politics, and her own sheltered existence as the provocative play threatens to cause a scandal.
