The Farewell (2019)
A Chinese-American artist returns to China under the guise of a fake wedding to see her grandmother, who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. The entire family has decided not to tell the grandmother her diagnosis, a decision based on a cultural belief. The visit becomes a heartfelt and often humorous exploration of family, cultural differences, and the lies we tell for love.
