Eighty people of all ages and backgrounds suddenly find themselves ripped from their everyday lives and placed into a deadly, inexplicable game. A disembodied voice gives them simple but brutal rules: race along a designated path or die. If you are lapped twice, you die. If you step off the path, you die. The racers include a war veteran, a deaf-mute girl, and many others, all forced into a frantic sprint for survival where they must navigate not only the physical course but also the moral dilemmas of whether to help or hinder their fellow contestants.
