The Hurt Locker (2008)
A new sergeant is assigned to an elite U.S. Army bomb disposal unit in the Iraq War. He is a reckless virtuoso, addicted to the thrill of disarming deadly improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which puts him at odds with his two squad mates who favor protocol and survival. The film follows the team's final month of rotation, depicting the intense psychological pressure and constant danger of their work, where one wrong move can mean instant death, and the home front feels a world away.
