The Kite Runner (2007)
In 1970s Afghanistan, a young boy from a wealthy background witnesses a traumatic event involving his loyal best friend, a Hazara servant's son, and does nothing to help. Guilt-ridden, he lives with his cowardice for years. After fleeing the Soviet invasion, he is given a chance at redemption to return to a Taliban-controlled Kabul to rescue his friend's son.
