The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976)
An extraterrestrial humanoid arrives on Earth from a drought-stricken planet. Using his advanced scientific knowledge, he rapidly builds a powerful technology conglomerate to finance the construction of a spacecraft to ship water back to his homeworld. He struggles with the sensory overload of human culture, vices, and emotions, which threaten to corrupt his mission and his very essence.
