The Ninth Gate (1999)
A rare book dealer is hired by a wealthy collector to authenticate a ancient text rumored to have been co-written by the Devil himself and capable of summoning him. The book dealer must travel across Europe to compare the client's copy against the two other known surviving copies, but he discovers that anyone connected to the books is meeting gruesome ends. He is drawn into a dangerous world of occult societies and murder, pursued by a mysterious woman who seems to have supernatural knowledge of his quest.
