The Pelican Brief (1993)
A brilliant law student writes a speculative legal brief theorizing the motive behind the assassination of two Supreme Court justices. Her document, though just an academic exercise, accidentally uncovers a devastating conspiracy involving a powerful oil tycoon. When those who have read the brief start turning up dead, she must go on the run with the help of an investigative journalist, trying to stay alive long enough to expose the truth.
