The Serpent and the Rainbow (1988)
An anthropologist is sent to Haiti by a pharmaceutical company to investigate a drug used in Haitian Vodou rituals that is said to create zombie-like states. His mission is to find the formula for scientific use. He soon finds himself drawn into a dark world of black magic and political terror, crossing paths with a powerful and evil witch doctor who will use any means to protect the secrets of the living dead.
