The Third Man (1949)
A penniless American writer arrives in post-war Vienna, only to learn that his friend has recently died in a suspicious accident. Skeptical of the official story, he begins his own investigation into the circumstances. He quickly finds himself entangled in a shadowy world of black markets and deception, discovering that his friend was not the man he thought and that his quest for the truth places him in grave danger.
