The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)
Two down-on-their-luck American drifters in Mexico partner with a grizzled old prospector to search for gold in the remote mountains. They eventually strike a rich vein, but their success breeds paranoia and greed. The constant threat of bandits is eclipsed by the growing mistrust between them, as the prospect of vast wealth threatens to destroy their partnership and their lives.
