Ugetsu (1953)
In war-torn feudal Japan, two ambitious peasants leave their wives to seek fortune and glory. One pursues wealth as a merchant, while the other dreams of becoming a samurai. Their quests for success lead them into a haunting, supernatural world of ghosts and spirits, blurring the lines between reality and illusion.
