Ustad Hotel (2012)
A young, ambitious chef, trained in Switzerland, dreams of working in a high-end European hotel. His plans are thwarted by his traditional grandfather, who wants him to take over the family's small, dilapidated beachside restaurant in Kochi. Initially disdainful of the simple, local food, the grandson is forced to work there. Through his interactions with the diverse customers and his wise grandfather, he slowly rediscovers the soul of cooking and the importance of community, challenging his elitist views on food and success.
