When amateur criminal lovers Mickey and Jules break into a seemingly empty suburban house to steal a car, their simple plan goes awry. They discover a young girl chained in the basement and attempt to rescue her. However, the home's owners, a peculiarly cheerful and menacing couple, return unexpectedly. The would-be robbers find themselves trapped in a deadly game with these hospitable but deeply disturbed individuals. The confrontation forces the young couple to confront their own morality and fight for their lives against a pair who embody a twisted version of suburban normality.
